Ceramics as methaphor of the emotions: fragility and resistence

In the beginning Raluca Buzura created jewels in bright colors.
In her latest collections, the brilliance and neatness of white and the sophistication of black with touches of gold are predominant and they seem to complete a “whole”.

Among the elegant and original beads of her wraparound necklaces (forms that resemble feathers of birds, scales, tentacles, leaves, seeds, arteries, needles, tears and others) gold appears between the black and white enhancing the piece with flashes of light.

Biography

Born in Tasnad (Romania) Raluca Buzura completed her undergraduate and graduate studies (Master’s degree) at the Faculty of Ceramics-Glass-Metal of the University of Art and Design of Cluj-Napoca in Romania between 2003 and 2009. During her studies she participated in numerous projects and exhibitions and also did an academic stay (Erasmus exchange programme) at the University of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland.

In January 2007 she initiated her career as contemporary jewelry artist by participating in a collective exhibition (ceramic installation) in Wroclaw, Poland. From then on she went on actively participating in several exhibitions and events.
